Chances are I would have ended up like this if computers hadn't come along...

A Collection of Funny Links

I've been saving a few links thinking that I might post something about them. Well here they are in one post - they are all safe and a safe subject to talk about....

Photos of nerds at home dressed up like movie heros

Don Majkowski Demands to be Reinstated as Packers Quarterbackvia SportsPickle.com
"Former Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Don Majkowski has entered in a bitter dispute with his former organization, admitting he is "guilty of retiring too early" 12 years ago, while demanding he be reinstated as the team's starter or given the opportunity to play elsewhere."
The iPod name history (it does not stand for international pod and it's not funny unless you call an ipod an international pod just for fun):
"The name iPod was proposed by Vinnie Chieco, a freelance copywriter, who (with others) was called by Apple to figure out how to introduce the new player to the public. After Chieco saw a prototype, he thought of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and the phrase "Open the pod bay door, Hal!", which refers to the white EVA Pods of the Discovery One spaceship.[5] Apple researched the trademark and found that it was already in use. Joseph N. Grasso of New Jersey had originally listed an "iPod" trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in July 2000 for Internet kiosks. The first iPod kiosks had been demonstrated to the public in New Jersey in March 1998, and commercial use began in January 2000, but had apparently been discontinued by 2001. The trademark was registered by the USPTO in November 2003, and Grasso assigned it to Apple Computer, Inc. in 2005.[7]
Finally - the reason for the internet - my hero Bubb Rubb and Lil Sis - My favorite part is when they almost hit a parked car, then run a stop sign.

Fifteen Posts in 15 Days

Alright - it's been a long time since I've updated this thing, so to get me back to thinking about things like this that are important, I'm going to start with 15 posts in 15 days. I'm not sure what they will be about, but by 8/12/2008 - there will be a post a day.

Updates

Sorry for the lack of posts.....I switched jobs two weeks ago and I'm now working for Medtronic - as a contractor - with an 18 month contract, so I had to start my own company - Lohn Solutions - anyway, I've been busy. Here's this week's photo of the week - Abbie filling out Thank You cards.

My camera wasn't with me...

I saw this article a few weeks ago and I thought it sounded like a good idea...

5 Reasons to Take Your Camera Everywhere in 2008

Well today, I missed a chance for two great photo opps.

The first one was at lunch, it was about 20 degrees out and I was out for a run. Coming the other way down the street was an older guy, wearing headphones, big mittens, a winter hat, a scarf and carrying golf clubs. It was awesome.

The second one was a cool sunset that I was watching while driving home. There are a couple of glass buildings that the reflection looked cool in.

I'll take some photos this weekend and get back on the Photo of the week kick.

Rockets in the State Tournament

If you haven't heard, the Rockford Rockets made it to the MN State Football tournament. Here's a video from Kare11 with their coach. He says it's been 17 years since the Rockets were in a section final - which was 1990, my senior year. RFP - Owwww! Here's a link to the results page of their schedule.

As it turns out they lost to Perham tonight - it was a good run for them though. It may mean the press will quit bugging me. Less interviews and less chance of a reunion where I would get the award for least distance traveled and most improved odor. It's been hard staying in a rut for 17 years.
